A good friend, Joan Kaskell, recently gave me two books published by The Library of America on the work of women crime writers of the 1940s and 1950s. I was delighted, and even more so when she invited me to a program where two mystery writers discussed the works. A final pleasure was encountering an old friend, Pat Klingenstein. Altogether, a great experience, and a good introduction to the Library of America.
The Library of America is a nonprofit organization that publishes, preserves, and celebrates America’s greatest writing. I recently became a member and I invite others to explore their website and publications.
